What is Hatha Yoga?

Hatha Yoga is a form of yoga that focuses on doing poses, to attain physical, mental and spiritual purification.  The term “Hatha” comes from Sanskrit (ancient Indo-European language of India) - “ha” means “sun” and “tha” means “moon.” Therefore, Hatha is a combination of sun and moon.  The sun and moon are equally important.  Similarly, when you breathe, inhales are just as important as exhales.  Each pose in Hatha Yoga is a balance of steadiness and easefulness. Since Hatha Yoga has a lot of options, it's fun and relaxing for everyone, including beginners.

Who am I?

Dedicated Wife, Mother and Yogi.  Former stressed-out Human Resources Generalist, close to burning out.  Then my friend encouraged me to become a Yoga Teacher (January 2018).  His advice inspired me to eventually join a yoga studio close to home.  Doing the yoga classes helped me to de-clutter my mind, move my body gently and reignite my inner flame.  June 2021 - completed the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training and became a Hatha Yoga Teacher.  December 2022 - completed 65 hours of Restorative Yoga Training.  With two degrees in Business and IT and a diploma in Human Resources, I’ve always been interested in how to help people, in a safe, effective and uplifting manner.  As a Yoga Teacher, I’m passionate about teaching people how to breathe slowly, move mindfully and feel better, at their own pace.
